A weekly Māori current affairs show for all New Zealanders
The Hui’s excellence in journalism has earned recognition in Aotearoa and also internationally where it was named as a finalist for Best Public Affairs Program in the New York Festival’s TV and Film Awards, alongside Al Jazeera and CGTN America. Additionally, winning Best Current Affairs Programme and Te Māngai Pāho Best Māori Programme at the 2022 NZ TV Awards.

The Hui team is made up of renowned reporters Julian Wilcox (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Te Arawa), Ruwani Perera (Sri Lanka), John Boynton (Tūhoe), D’Angelo Martin (Te Rarawa), and Meriana Johnsen (Kāi Tahu, Rangitāne). Helmed by Melanie Jones and Rewa Harriman (Te Whakatōhea, Te Mahurehure and Ngaruahine), edited by Debbie Matthews and production managed by Jodhi Hoani.
